Alia Bhatt Gangubai Kathiwadi Shooting will resume from July, Gangubai Kathiwadi will be the first film to start the shooting after the coronavirus pandemic all the film bodies called for a halt in filming on March 15 .
The unlock 1.0 phase has begun in Maharashtra and other states and we are expecting the filmmakers to start the production and post-production work of their ventures. Among the anticipated films, Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi will be one of the first projects to start the shooting.

The makers have already completed the 70 per cent shooting of the film and will complete once the filming resumes. “The film is made for the theatre-going audience and Sanjay and team want to release it as soon as possible. They are presently working out a plan for the shoot and are aiming to resume by July end. Talking about the film, it will be based on Mafia Queens of Mumbai, which is written by journalist Hussain Zaidi. Gangubai Kothewali was the owner of a brothel in Kamathipura (Mumbai area) and a powerful woman in the 60s. Apart from running a brothel, she used to peddle drug and order for murders. The reports also suggest that she owned a swanky black Bently in 1960s. If you’d recall, the director had registered the title Gangubai with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) earlier. Who Was Gangubai Kathiawadi?
Gangubai Kathiawadi was an Indian criminal, don, sex worker, businesswoman; all in all, a controversial figure from Kathiawar, India. She operated a sex racket in the Hera Mandi red light district. She was a very influential figure in Mumbai through the 60s.
Ganga Harjeevan Das Kathiawadi was born in 1939 in Kathiawar. She came from a well-settled family, being the only girl child in her family. Thus she was pampered by her parents. She studied a local government school of Gujarat and despite finishing her school education she didn’t study further.
